Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this site, find us, and reach us — including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or voice control.
Our commitment
The Longwood Counseling Center is committed to making our website usable by people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we’ve done
- Every page works with keyboard navigation alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “skip to content” link.
- Headings, landmarks and lists are marked up so screen readers can navigate by structure.
- Text and background colors meet contrast requirements; nothing is conveyed by color alone.
- Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content, and the layout adapts to small screens.
- Animation is minimal and respects your system’s “reduce motion” setting.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Buttons and links are large enough to tap easily on a phone.
Known limitations
Our consultation request form and client portal are provided by third parties (Google Forms and SimplePractice); we’ve chosen them in part for their accessibility, but we don’t control their code. If either gives you trouble, call or text us and we’ll take your information by phone.
