Counseling in Longwood, Florida

You already know what to do.
Let’s work on the doing.

Therapy for teens and adults who’ve tried strategies — even therapy — and still watch the same thoughts, habits, and relationship patterns loop. We turn insight into action, in the moments that matter most.

Meet the counselors

Is this you?

Pick the one that sounds most like today.

  • You lie awake replaying conversations or rehearsing ones that haven’t happened.
  • You’re the reliable one, holding it together on the outside while your head never powers off.
  • You’ve figured out a lot of it already. Knowing hasn’t made it stop.

How we work on it

We find what’s driving the cycle for you and build tools for the moments that matter — the 2am spiral, the dread before the hard conversation. CBT, ACT, IFS and EMDR, chosen to fit you.

Our counselors

Two people who will be in your corner.

Both trained in EMDR, both direct, both more interested in what changes outside the room than inside it. Pick the one whose page sounds like your life — or let us match you on a free call.

Can I actually afford this?

It’s probably the first thing you’re wondering. So here it is.

Sessions are $150 for individuals and $200 for couples — the same with every clinician, in person or online. We don’t bill insurance directly. But if you have a PPO plan, there’s a good chance it covers out-of-network therapy, sometimes more than you’d expect.

  1. 1
Check your out-of-network benefits. Thrizer looks up your plan and shows your real per-session cost before you commit to anything.
  2. 2
Pay the session fee. $150 individual, $200 couples. HSA and FSA cards welcome. Sliding scale by application.
  3. 3
Get reimbursed automatically. Thrizer files the claim. Once your deductible is met, you pay a copay-style amount instead of the full fee.

What’s different here

Four things we’d want to know before choosing a therapist.

An EMDR-trained team

At most practices, EMDR means one clinician and a waitlist. Here, every counselor is trained in it. If trauma reprocessing turns out to be what helps, you do it with the person you already trust.

Prices on the page

Most practices around us don’t publish their fees. We publish ours, explain superbills in plain English, and give you a Good Faith Estimate before care starts.

More than one set of eyes

Your care isn’t one person’s opinion. We consult regularly with each other and with senior licensed clinicians, so what you get is a practice thinking about you — not a solo act.

Built for the moment, not the abstract

You don’t need more insight. You need something that works at 2am and in the hard conversation. That’s what we build with you.

Everything on the internet should be taken with a grain of salt, so we let our clients speak for us on Google — and our colleagues put their reputations behind ours here.

FAQ

The questions we get asked most.

How much does therapy cost at The Longwood Counseling Center?

Sessions are $150 for individuals and $200 for couples, the same with every clinician here. We’re out of network with all insurance plans and provide a superbill after each session you can submit for reimbursement — many PPO plans reimburse a meaningful share of out-of-network mental health care. Our partner Thrizer can check your plan in about a minute and file the claims for you. A sliding scale is available by application. Full details on fees and insurance.

Do you take insurance?

No. We’re a private-pay practice, which means you pay us directly and we give you a superbill — an itemized receipt with the codes your insurer needs — for out-of-network reimbursement. If you’d rather not deal with claims, Thrizer can verify your benefits and submit them automatically. Here’s exactly how it works.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. We see clients in person at our Longwood office and by secure video anywhere in the state of Florida. EMDR works over telehealth too — we use on-screen cues or self-administered tapping in place of in-room bilateral stimulation. About online sessions.
