Therapy may be a good fit if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward, even if you can’t name exactly what’s wrong. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you’re seeking support, clarity, or a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy can offer a safe space to explore and grow at your own pace. For a more defined checklist on if it's time to start counseling, please see our blog.
Finding the right therapist is about feeling safe, understood, and supported. We encourage you to explore our Services Guide in the About Us section to see whether one of our therapists at LCC specializes in the area you’re seeking growth or support. You’re also welcome to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to ask questions, get a feel for our approach, and see if it feels like a good fit. The right therapist is someone you feel comfortable growing with.
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of therapy and helps create a safe, trusting space. What you share in session stays private, with a few legal exceptions required by law (such as concerns about immediate harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a minor, elderly person, or dependent adult). We’re always happy to explain confidentiality and its limits in more detail and answer any questions you may have.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you’re hoping for from the process. There’s no pressure to share everything right away — you set the pace. We’ll also review logistics like confidentiality, scheduling, and answer any questions you have. Most clients leave the first session feeling clearer about next steps and whether the fit feels right.
