Meet (y)our team:
The Longwood Counseling Center provides in-person therapy for those in Central Florida and telehealth mental health therapy for anyone anywhere in the State of Florida. We provide individual therapy, couples/marriage/relationship therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. We specialize in applying the best-fit approach for each individual client. Whether you are struggling with emotional regulation, relationship issues, a crisis, finding a purpose, increasing your happiness, or a chronic health issue, we utilize the most appropriate theory and guidance for your unique situation.
In addition, an important rule of therapy: your privacy and peace of mind are our greatest concerns. Therapy needs to be confidential and non-judgmental in order to be effective. Prioritizing nonjudgment reduces assumptions and increases authenticity, problem-solving, and connection. Go ahead, try to surprise us. Call or text us, or fill out the contact form here.
The most important part of choosing a therapist is finding someone that you feel you can trust to let into your world. The focus of my practice is to create a safe environment to explore your life at your pace and find practical solutions to improve your circumstances. No one will understand your life or what is best for you better than you will. Together we will sort through the emotions and challenges you are facing to improve how you feel and tackle the circumstances limiting your ability to thrive. I am in your corner and I believe in you. Let's get to work.
“It is never too late to become what you were meant to be”
Choosing a therapist can be confusing and intimidating (trust me, I get it). More than anything, the most important factor in conducting effective therapy is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. Ours will be a safe, nonjudgmental place to unpack and process even the most distressing moments. Together, we can find a way through the hard issues and back to a more centered way of living. My approach to therapy assumes that you are doing the very best you can with what you have, and I am here to walk with you through whatever may come. You are welcome here, exactly as you are.
Let’s make this journey something meaningful, together.
Whether it’s managing emotions, navigating tough decisions, or just figuring out how to feel a little more you—I’m here to walk with you every step of the way. I help my clients remove and overcome barriers in their lives in order to grow with boundless potential. To live a life worth living.
Therapy works best when it’s all about you. My approach is person-centered, which means we’ll focus on your unique strengths, goals, and challenges. I also bring in tools from a variety of therapies, including DBT and ACT, to help you build the life you want.
Our counselors are licensed in the state of Florida as Registered Mental Health Counseling Interns (Joseph & David) or Registered Marriage and Family Interns (Jessica). In most other states, these are often called "Licensed Associate Counselors." They are currently fulfilling the post-masters experience requirements required for Licensed Mental Health Counselors and Licensed Marriage and Family therapists, respectively.
They each hold a master's degree in counseling from a CACREP-accredited institution and are each on the path to obtaining specialized certifications in order to better serve their various specialties.

Does it feel like the passion and trust that you built your relationship on is slipping away?
Does it feel like you or your partner become overly defensive or guarded during stressful moments?
Relationship counseling is a great way to renew your commitments to each other or get through difficult events together, while maintaining your individuality.
We can help improve communication, trust, and intimacy when it matters the most. Give us a call or fill out the form at the bottom of this page to schedule a couples, marriage, or relationship session today.
Trauma therapy, tailored to your needs
Experiencing a crisis, a loss or a traumatic event can suck the color and music out of life. It can also make us sensitive, reactive, keep us frozen, or rob us of our joy.
Post-traumatic stress, or trauma, mimics the symptoms of many other mental health issues and can exacerbate our existing hardships.
If you feel stuck after a difficult or bothering experience and would like help, our counselors can utilize specialized trauma-focused therapies which can help you turn the page into the next chapter.
Find new purpose, reclaim old joys, and live your life without unnecessary hardship.
Individual therapy for anxiety, OCD, and mood disorders
About one in five individuals report experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression within the last two weeks.
Are you finding less joy in things you used to find meaningful? Feeling exhausted all the time? Feeling Stuck? You are not alone.
Using evidence-based, modern practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), we can help you eliminate the physical symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. Find energy and enjoyment in the things that used to bring you happiness.
The first step is always the hardest. Text or call our office: 407-488-7262 to get started, or use this form.
